From the age of 16, Wilson Jno Baptiste knew he wanted to be his own boss after seeing an infomercial on how to sell items using classified ads. By the age of 21, he had already owned and operated several businesses including a ringtone sales company which he ran from a local market near his university campus in South London.
In 2018, he founded Axcess, a software development and solution company based in Anguilla. The flagship software for Axcess is Punchclock AI. Punchclock AI is a wireless time-clock built mainly for tough outdoor environments. Axcess also offers two other software options including an e-commerce solution called Quickpay which allows businesses to process payments online via 4CS and an e-ticketing and billing platform called Advanced Axcess.
Axcess offers software-based solutions to common problems that are often handled using more traditional methods. One of the biggest challenges for Axcess so far has been convincing businesses and customers that Axcess’s efficient and effective software is the best option for them in today’s modern world. Mr. Jno Baptiste highlighted that, ‘For most people, change is hard to accept and often it takes time to adapt.”
While working in Anguilla does present another challenge, mainly due to the size of the market, Mr. Jno Baptiste shared that for him, working in Anguilla is no more difficult than in any other country. He pointed out that, ‘People need things and if you can attend to those needs in a professional manner and you can obtain monetary value from it then you are in business.’
To date, the response from the clients who have utilised Axcess’s software services has been excellent. For Mr. Jno Baptiste, one of the biggest benefits of running Axcess has been seeing his ideas start as a thought and manifest through action. He also derives great satisfaction from watching the software he has built perform well and save his clients valuable time which can be channeled into other avenues of their business.
In today’s competitive market, Axcess prides itself on staying ahead by overdelivering and consistently surpassing their client’s expectations. Their key priority is providing exceptional service and creating high value for their customers while always being able to quickly adapt to the changing needs of each client.
Mr. Jno Baptiste garners most of his business inspiration and advice from reading books and watching videos on other successful people. For him, the overarching theme is that you get up early, put in the work, believe in your product, and be the best at what you do. His advice to budding entrepreneurs is, ‘Surround yourself with people who can complement what you do but don’t be afraid to go it alone if you must.’
Within the next decade, Axcess hopes to capitalise on current ongoing client talks in Africa and Dubai and become a major player in these two markets.
Axcess is an internet-based company, so at present they can be contacted via their website, Punchclock.ai. There are current plans to secure a physical location to better support the needs of their growing clientele.
Owner of Axcess, Mr. Wilson Jno Baptiste shared these final words for the general public, ‘If you are paying by the hour and want to better account for your employees’ time and payroll, visit us at punchclock.ai.’
